Hans Frankort joined Cass Business School in September 2009 after receiving a PhD from the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. He holds a MSc, Cum Laude, in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Eindhoven University of Technology. He also studied at the University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business (2003) and worked at the European Foundation for Management Development in Brussels, Belgium (2005). In 2007, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business and in 2014, he was a Visiting Scholar in the Strategic Management Area at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

Hans studies the antecedents and consequences of interpersonal and horizontal and vertical interfirm relationships in a variety of industries, such as information technology, biotechnology, and the hedge fund industry, and in settings such as business incubators and online business-to-business marketplaces. He has published in Advances in Strategic Management, Industrial and Corporate Change, and the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings. His research received the Robert J. Litschert Award at the 2008 AOM Annual Meeting in Anaheim (CA), a Distinguished Paper Award at the 2011 Meeting in San Antonio (TX), and both Best Conference Paper Award and Best Conference Paper Award for Practice Implications nominations at the 2012 Strategic Management Society Conference in Prague (Czech Republic). Also, in 2011 Cass Business School awarded him a Commendation for his Outstanding Contribution to Research, and City University London awarded him a Staff Prize for Excellence in Research.

Hans currently teaches Quantitative Methods for Business to postgraduate students and he coaches student teams in the Consultancy Week in Cass's fulltime MBA program. In 2012, Cass Business School awarded him a School Prize for Excellence in Postgraduate Teaching and, in 2013, an Award for Outstanding Contribution to the School, in particular for Curriculum Design and Outstanding Teaching Quality.

Hans serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Management Studies. Moreover, he is a regular referee for other leading academic journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Research Policy, the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and the Strategic Management Journal, as well as the Business Policy and Strategy Division at the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society Conference. He received Outstanding Reviewer Awards at the 2010 AOM Meeting in Montreal (QC) and the 2011 Meeting in San Antonio (TX).

Hans is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. During 2012-2014, he served on the Research Committee at the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management, where he served as European Representative during 2010-2012. During 2008-2010, he served on the Research Committee at its Organization and Management Theory Division.
